Illustration Friday - Captain Cook

Captain Cook was born in North Yorkshire, UK in the 18th Century and became a sailor, exploring and 'discovering' lands in the south seas including Australia and New Zealand. This illustration combines the copy of a sketch of his ship Endeavour and photo of his statue (located in Whitby and replicated elsewhere), as well as my own watercolour of Whitby and an old map I found.

oh, my, this is wonderful. The combination of so many elements creates a collage image. And your watercolor village is beautiful. This is really a breathtaking piece.
