Another Tale

In the Central African tale of the Friendship of the Tortoise and the Eagle, the tortoise discovers that his 'friend' has been enjoying his generosity with no thought to invite him to share his food. Hidden in a gourd the eagle unwittingly carries him to his eyrie where the tortoise confronts him. The eagle tries to get rid of the tortoise who clings onto his leg and is safely brought back down to earth. Needless to say, the friendship didn't last.
