This illustration was inspired by Spike Milligan's poem 'The Vegetarian Lion' and designed as a Vegetarian Cookery book cover. Images were digitally layered and then the whole image reduced to sepia and printed. Selected parts were painted in watercolour to try to recreate the impression of an old handcoloured photograph.
Another image based on the same poem using different media scanned and applied to the finished illustration.
Based on sketches and using a variety of media including handmade paper.
